Egyptian Astronomy
The Egyptians have been well known since before 4000 BC for their incredible monuments. That was especially so in the time when Ramses II was King, since it's when the majority of structures were erected. Even though they were created thousands of years ago, they were some of the most impressive monuments ever. There is more than sight that makes these so incredible. For example, one of the pyramids of Giza has a small passageway in which the star "Thuban" shines into. The accuracy is so close, that it was only a few inches off. The reason that Thuban was the one to be shined into the burial chamber was because at the time that the pyramids were built, the star they chose was the closest to the North Celestial Pole, which might have represented the power of the pharoah.
